Re: Ben Johnson
It's not the specs on, Bolty son, it's just obvious what was going on with his positioning. Many City hurt teams predominantly through the middle, and our fullbacks are clearly told to tuck in. If it was down to the player, he would've been told by our Premier League winning manager to get tighter to the wide player after 5 minutes of the game kicking off.

Has been actually.

Thanks for asking.

Busy day, Block?

Re: Ben Johnson
the whole of the back four impressed me last night, even oggy, though he does scare you sometimes when he dwells on the ball and plays hospital passes in to dangerous areas

Re: Ben Johnson
I agree, Anderson seemed more interested in waiting for the ball last night rather than tracking back. maybe certain players see games like that as a way of impressing the opposition manager, not that I'm saying he was doing that, but he did seem distracted for most of the game

Block 5:27 Thu Feb 28
Re: Ben Johnson
Haha, Mike.

Anderson in front of him wasn't a great idea, as Anderson isn't the best at tracking back.

A few times I noted he had Mahrez wide and where Anderson hadn't tracked there were runners from midfield coming at him too.

That's not a dig at him, like many seem to think it is.

Re: Ben Johnson
he rarely looked exposed, I thought he was very measured and at times very intelligent, showing mahrez on to his weak foot, not letting him get to the byline

Re: Ben Johnson
Hilarious how you can't say the smallest bad word about our youngsters, when I clearly said he done well but has a few minor things to work on.

Comical watching some posters piss themselves.

Re: Ben Johnson
Scud,

Want to check the posts where I said it didn't help that Anderson didn't track back meaning he was often exposed?

Na, thought not.

Also Fredericks now looks like we committed larceny on Fulham.

I thought the lad was tremendous and we looked worse when Zab came on.

Not 'Arsenal' obviously...

I'm going for 6 full games.

Re: Ben Johnson
Block.

"... came narrow allowing the out pass to Mahrez in the first half."

When the team instructions are to play narrow then that's what needs to be done.

If he had decided to go out wide to get closer to Mahrez he'd have left a space in the middle which Man City could have exploited very easily (which if you'd watched any of their games you'll know).

You don't really understand football, do you, you gigantic headed berk?

Shall we hold a sweepstake as to how many games before Sky, the Sun, the Mail or bloody whoever 'understands' that [Insert current in vogue top 6 side] are keeping tabs on the new Westham starlet...

Also if you read my original post, you'll see I gave him enough credit.

Re: Ben Johnson
Mahrez had a shocking game, not because of Johnson.

Some people really do have their specs on don't they?

Many times Mahrez was out wide on his own, was given the ball and misplaced a pass ort made a poor touch.

Just hope he passes the drugs test

Re: Ben Johnson
Block,
Mahrez had a poor game and was taken off for Sterling.
Surely that has something to do with Johnson playing well and sticking to Pellegrini's plan.
He came off due to a bit of a calf injury, could if been cramp.

A 19yr old making his debut against probably the best team and manager in the world. You give him little credit.
Ridiculous.

The offside thing was great to see, a somewhat make shift back 4 doing that is a nice surprise.

Re: Ben Johnson
Looks like we have the right back slot covered for next season with Fredericks and this lad Johnson. Which means money to spend on a decent left back with Creswell as a competent backup.
